Uploading MMS to web

I'm trying to write an app that backs up my sms and mms to my server.  I have the listeners working and it is successfully sending my sms.  When I try to do the mms, all I get is:

(2 unreadable bytes)&application/vnd.wap.mms-message

and the address is 111130100:9200

          if ( m instanceof BinaryMessage ) { //MMS
	    		BinaryMessage bm = (BinaryMessage)m;
_recipient = bm.getAddress().substring(6); _ts = getTimeStamp(); byte[] b = bm.getPayloadData(); try { message = new String(b, "UTF-8"); } catch (UnsupportedEncodingException e) { throwException(e); } }

How can I get the correct address and the binary data? Does anyone have a working HTTP post example with MMS data?
