Use the Profiler tool to optimize application code

This article applies to the BlackBerry® Java® Development Environment (BlackBerry JDE).

The Profiler tool, included in the Blackberry JDE, can be used to optimize application code. The Profiler tool displays the percentage of time spent in each code area, up to the current point of execution.

The type of data to profile can include time in clock ticks, number or size of objects created, number or size of objects committed, and number or size of objects moved to RAM. It is also possible to control whether execution times are calculated cumulatively, including calls to other methods, or for each method only.

For more information on using this tool, see the appropriate BlackBerry Java Development Environment Developer Guide.
