User confirmation dialog for accessing some RIM Api

Hi,

I am using RadioInfo Api for getting locations, while installing and running my application I am getting the popup with "The application is attempting to access radio information that may identify your location Do tou allow?". I am using curve 8520 for testing.

Does this confirmation message will come for all devices?

Any possibilities are there to avoid these dialog?

Re: User confirmation dialog for accessing some RIM Api

check if it is related to application permissions, you can check them at startup using

http://www.blackberry.com/developers/docs/6.0.0api/net/rim/device/api/applicationcontrol/Application...

Thank you for your valuable suggession.

But, when I set applications permission by using our application, when the device gets restarted it ask "The Sample application try to change application permissions. Do you allow?". Is there anyway to avoid this prompt?

Re: User confirmation dialog for accessing some RIM Api

sure. if the device is connected to a BES you can allow these things on server-side.

on a non-BES device the user should know about all things happening on his device, this is a security measure which cannot be circumvented.

you can add a reason provider (os 5+) or document it in the user handbook. bb users are used to these dialogs.
