I'm using the 4.7 JDE and Blackberry Storm... I'm trying to find a way to use the desktop wallpaper as a background of my application... I don't want to change it, just access it.
Is this possible?

There are no APIs in the BlackBerry API set that return the user's current wallpaper. You could ask the user to browse to a background image of their choice and use it as your screen's background.

Thanks. I don't understand why you can set the background image programmtically, but not retrieve it.
Is there any documentation on how to ask the user to browse for a background image?

Have a look at the fileexplorerdemo included with the BlackBerry JDE for an example.
However, please note that third party applications are not able to access the sample media files included with the BlackBerry handheld software.

Can I not open one of the sample wallpapers (bridge, passage..) from the file:///store/samples/pictures/ ?
What workaround is there to access one of the system wallpapers?
