WAP 1.0 APN name

firstly I apologies if this question has been asked before but I could not find the answer in the forums or missed it among other similar questions.

My application needs to access a server on the internet and so I intend to use a direct connection (e.g.. deviceSide=true) via WAP 1.1 (e.g.. by adding apn=<gateway name>).

This seems to work fine, but does require the user to have configured the the WAP APN to be used.

Is there a way to get the WAP APN from one of the service book records? I believe it is not possible?

The next part of the question is whether a carrier specific WAP APN can be used when the user is roaming? Will a connection with deviceside=false;apn=<gateway name> from a roaming device route correctly? Or does the WAP APN need to be changed?

Many thanks,

David Johnson
