I'mhaving a problem getting an http compatible date due to inability to make a short time zone name.
If I just use toString() or SimpleDateFormat with "z", I seem to get something like this,
Sat, 20 09 2008 09:44:29 America/New_York
where I want "EST" instead of the america thing. What did I miss here?
SimpleDateFormat sdf = new SimpleDateFormat(" E, dd MM yyyy HH:mm:ss z");

Thanks, I normally invent my own stuff but I would have thought that support for IETF or w3 dates would be automatic.
Is there a wireless spec that deviates from the short timezone thing ( am I missing the easy way to fix this)?
