a background application to obtain the current url in browser?

I am wondering if a background application can obtain the url address that user is viewing in the browser.

Thanks a lot.

Re: a background application to obtain the current url in browser?

AFAIK, the only method to do this is to place your own ApplicationMenuItem on the Browser menu. When the user clicks on your menu option, your ApplicationMenuItem.run() method will get the current URL as a string.

See ApplicationMenuItem and ApplicationMenuItemRepository in the API docs.
