I think someone mentioned a "noconvertpng" flag or something similar in the past but I'm
trying to get some idea on the best way to pick and "cod" an icon image. For simple icons,
those that presumably compress well, things are fine, but for more complicated ones, that are
still small as jpg's, the cod file can get 10k or so bigger ( creating unwanted siblings).
What is the best strategy for dealing with icons( are there any options) or are they supposed
to be simple ?
Also, what can the tools do automatically to make siblings from single cod files? Do I need to split the
files myself? At some of the older forum posts suggest unzipping the cod, which I didn't think was possible.
I'm using 4.0.2 but curious to know if there are issues with differnt jde's as I wanted version independent scripts.

I like this approach Simon. Tell me, how do you get over these problems that I see:
a) OTA installed applications seem to retain the default icon until the device is restarted. Or this just a bug in my code? If you saw this in your case, you would see a cropped icon until the first restart.
b) The icon in the 'Task List' (ALT/ESC) is always the default icon - again a bug in my code? If you saw this in your case, you would see a cropped icon in the Task List.
