behaviour of Edit field

do we have a component in blackberry  similar to the address field of the browser.

It is a single line field that can only display a set number of characters. If more than that limit is entered, the text shifts to the left and the end of the string is always shown. If the field is not selected, we should display the beginning of the text string and an ellipsis at the end. When the field is selected again, place the cursor at the end of the text string.

Im not sure but have you tried the TextField?

I am not aware of a Ui Component that has this behaviour.

you can check out the behaviour on the blackberry device itself.

in the browser , we have a field to enter the web address. i want the same behaviour like it

You have to write a custom component using editfield.
