does a browserfield app kill the battery faster

I have a browserfield based application that browses custom content on my server. I noticed that when users leave the app open or in background (even when its not making network connections), they seem to have faster/rapid battery drain compared to other apps.

I've seen other posts on the forum about the default browser draining battery significantly if left open. Does this apply to the browserfield as well?

Re: does a browserfield app kill the battery faster

Battery drain is caused by RF, LED, various peripherals ( camera or speakers), and to some extent

dynamic CMOS gates. If you are constantly checking or fetching or doing network IO, that will

hurt. I would think a CPU drain would be a more prominent symptom than battery if

you are spinning on a useless thread. I'm not sure if you can calculate joules/bit but

you may be able to get some idea. Try shutting off the radio and see if that helps.
