how to add menu item (link to app) in music player

I'm trying to create an app that will have a menu item outside the app even if it's not running in the music player and when I click on the menu item it will return the location of the song and open my app and give it that information

Re: how to add menu item (link to app) in music player

you are limited to the application menu items.
maybe http://www.blackberry.com/developers/docs/7.1.0api/net/rim/blackberry/api/menuitem/ApplicationMenuIt... ? i don't think this will show up in the player though, so maybe you need a global one.

Re: how to add menu item (link to app) in music player

use http://www.blackberry.com/developers/docs/7.1.0api/net/rim/blackberry/api/menuitem/ApplicationMenuIt... to get the instance, and http://www.blackberry.com/developers/docs/7.1.0api/net/rim/blackberry/api/menuitem/ApplicationMenuIt... net.rim.blackberry.api.menuitem.ApplicationMenuItem) to add a menu item.
it is best done in autostart to avoid adding it multiple times.
