is it true that applications have a limited number of timers?

I read in the UiApplication javadoc page that applications have a limited number timers available to them.  Is this true?

If yes, how many timers is the limit?

  Thanks

a single app can have up to 16 threads. a timer is a thread, a timertask is not.

To be more precise, a Timer is a thread only when there's at least one timer task scheduled or is executed. So, in theory, you could have a thousand Timer istances, as long as no more than 10 or so have timer tasks scheduled/executing.
