Re: javax.microedition.media.MediaException: unsupported content type - text/plain

AFAIK the player is supposed to work with audio and video media types  hence the content type should be something like audio/amr, audio/basic, video... not text/plain.

Are you sure that the url you pass is a valid url to a video/audio?

It is also possible to that your media is corrupted.

Here is a doc desribing the supported content types - http://docs.blackberry.com/en/smartphone_users/deliverables/18349/711-01774-123_Supported_Media_Type...

Re: javax.microedition.media.MediaException: unsupported content type - text/plain

I have a PDF describing the supported media types and here is what I have for Blackberry Curve 8900:

MP4 video is supported with codecs H.264(baseline profile, 480x360 pixels , up to 1500kbps, 24 fps), MPEG-4 480x360px, up to 1500kbps, 24fps, H.263 profile 0 and 3 , level 45 - RTSP streaming is supported

MP4 audio is supported with codecs AAC-LC, AAC+, eAAC+ - RTSP supported

Do you by any chance can try opening the URL on an actual blackberry device?
