navigationMovement event in menu

Hello all,

I'm trying to build a submenu, i work with the 4.2.1 library, which should appear when the user scrolls the trackball to the right on a menu item which has a submenu. For this i've overwritten the navigationMovement method:

	protected boolean navigationMovement(int dx, int dy, int status, int time) {
		Menu menu = getMenu(0);
		MenuItem menuItem = menu.getSelectedItem();

		// check if the menuitem has a submenu
		//...

		if (dx > 0) {
			// movement to the right, open submenu
		}
		return true;
	}

The problem here is the events don't get through when the user opens the menu.

Is there a way to bypass this problem?

Thanks

Re: navigationMovement event in menu

menus are popupscreens, they receive the navigation events, not the underlying screens.

you'll have to provide your own menu (as a custom popupscreen, or better, directly painted on the screen) as the Menu class does not expose any control methods
