net.rim.device.api.io.file.FileIOException: File system error

I am getting this error "net.rim.device.api.io.file.FileIOException: File system error".

FileConnection fc = null;
        try {
            fc = (FileConnection) Connector.open(path);
        } catch(Exception ex) {
            System.out.println(ex.getMessage());
            ex.printStackTrace();
        }

Can any one suggest why its so. Thanks in advance

Check your path - for example are you specifying SD Card and you don't actually have an SD Card.

Im the Simulator, you can specify a directory as the location of your Simulated SD Card, but you do have to set this up yourself.  Check the Simulate menu - the Windows menu associated with the Simulator PC application.

Search the forum for that error code and I think you will find it typically means SD Card not present.

Check you card is present by using the File Application.  If it is, then you have a problem with your path.

Re: net.rim.device.api.io.file.FileIOException: File system error

"Its not allowing to me" - unusual, what is it actually doing?

I recommend that you debug this code initially on the Simulator.  Add a simulated SD Card and try it there.  You should find easier than debugging on device.

Once you have your code working on the Simulator, then try it on device.
