new developer - Blackberry Java won't compile

When I try to compile the Rim samples, I get this error.

javac: invalid flag: -source

How do I fix it.  How do I control which java version the RIM enviroment is using?  (I have several JDKs installed on my machine.)

Thanks,

Gerry
