seeking hint on how to create submenu

My application has a menu which has 3 menu items. One menu item, when gets focus, should display another set of menu options like submenu.

I looked for submenu functionality in blackberryAPI but in vain. I searched forums also but nothing helpful I came across.

Can anyone please help me solve this problem? If this requires custom implementation, would you please give some suggestions on how to start with?

Re: seeking hint on how to create submenu

thnks for your quick reply.

I have just read the post. Yes i must have to customize the menu item.

I have already tried to customize the menuitem but in vain.

I would be very helpful if someone can tell me something more specific that would help to solve my problem.

Or if anyone already done this before can give me some specific guidelines.

Re: seeking hint on how to create submenu

a very simple approach would be:
overwrite makemenu
create a popupscreen, position it where you want and have some focusable label fields as menu items
catch navigationclick on these items, create a second popupscreen and place it near the first.
