sharing image thru clipboard

Hi,

 

I know I can share content thruough clipboard put method. But can I share image ? how does the third party application know if it is image or string ? I am trying to share an image but it is actually converting it to string version of my bitmap field. 

 

any help ?

as the method defines object you can put anything in there, but i guess the receiving application does not know what to expect.

how are you putting your image into the clipboard?

I presume that there is some text defending the image.

 

So you are adding a Bitmap to the Clipboard.  What application are you trying to paste this into?

ok... I have the similar requirement.... I wanted to paste this into email editor or bbm chat window...

OK, so whether you can do that or not will depend on whether those applications accept the image.  Have you seen either of them accept an image from any other application?
