showNotify(), hideNotify()

Hi all

 

I want to pause my application on incomming call or message ...

 

I am implementing the showNotify() and hideNotify() methodes.

 

but while start the application it shows an exception like

 

Ubcaught exceptionSmiley TongueopScreen: UiEngine is null != net.rim.device.UiEnginelmp@alae8c8a

what is the problem.

What action(s) does your application take on start up?  What line of code is triggering the exception?

 

You can use the PhoneListener interface to listen for incoming calls.

can u tell what is showNotify and hideNotify can i use these methods for disabling the Call recieve CallEnd Back button....

showNotify() and hideNotify() are not implemented in UiApplication as long as I know, they are only for GameCanvas.

when a call is accepted the phone application requests foreground. your application will be notified that it is no longer displayed.
see Application deactivate() or the onUndisplay() in the ui classes.
using a phonelistener is another option as MSohm already said, but with the former you could also work on the usecase of the user changing the application using the task manager.
