smart measuring tape in Blackberry

I want to measure my Object for example(image) height, width and distance using camera. I found this https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=kr.sira.measure   in google play. I want to make this type of application not exactly same but quite same but for my requirement I want to measure my image height, width and distance using camera.

Can anyone give me/suggest me the right way or any example so that I can get more idea about this requirement.

Re: smart measuring tape in Blackberry

There seem to be two main requirements to make this application:

a) Ability to interpret an image and determine 'edges' from it.

The camera demo application will help you take images.  But you will not find any help on this forum regarding how to interpret an image.

b) Ability to understand trigonometry and how to apply it - again you will find very little help on this forum

It appears the main skills you will need are not actually BlackBerry Java related and you will need to look in other places for information, if you do not already know this.

If you have a specific BlackBerry Java  question that relates to the implementation of the ideas, then please ask it.  For now, all we can suggest is that the place to start from a BlackBerry Java perspective is the CameraDemo sample, after that you need to use other sources of information to complete this application.

Good luck.
