standalone gps

I understand that it takes quite some time for the GPS chip to get the initial lat/long fix. But my concern is what happens if I move the phone to a different position (for instance while driving) while waiting for the initial lat/long fix. Once the lat/lon are retrieved will they be for the initial position of my phone or for the new position (some distance away)?

Thanks in advance for your help

Re: standalone gps

New position.

My understanding is that the time starting up is more about the establishment of communication with and verification of the satellites.  Once this is done the GPS chip can establish its position very quickly.
