AppCover could not play animation

I found that it can only use active frame update plus timer to move a imageview in order to realize an animation on the AppCover, but it is not fluent.

If I directly add animation on the AppCover, the appcover would not be loaded. Does someone know how to add animation on AppCover?

Thank you

Re: AppCover could not play animation

I'm fairly certain this is not possible. The intention is that apps in the background (i.e. not fullscreen) should not take significant CPU, and not only are they limited in the CPU they're given, but I believe the app cover is also explicitly not updated very often... In theory no more often than every 15s or 30s or something like that.

As a user, I would absolutely not want any app to be animating its cover anyway. I did post a video once showing a form of animation, but as you can tell from the title and my comments, this would definitely be considered an "abuse" of active frames: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7JpctH_H_ec Please don't do something like that!

Re: AppCover could not play animation

I believe that the app cover will only refresh once every two seconds.

If I remember correctly the UI guidelines recomend not updating more than once every 30 seconds...

Re: AppCover could not play animation

It can use a customized timer which can be bound in the update function. I can even set up to 2ms and it works. But not suggest to do that.
