Background applicaiton in BB10

Hello Everyone,

I am new to BB10. Just wanted to know if below features are possible in a BB10 app,

1. App should run in background and there should be no icon displayed for it on home screen.

2. App should auto start when user restart the mobile.

Thanks

Re: Background applicaiton in BB10

You can make headless application BUT it requires UI application also and currently, seems impossible to hide the icon.

Re: Background applicaiton in BB10

Shiryu is correct. There's no way to hide the icon for the UI portion of your application. There's no such thing as a "pure" headless application (at least for third-party apps), which hides from the user. This is intentional.

Is it possible to make application auto start when device is restarted?

Re: Background applicaiton in BB10

Yes, the _sys_headless_nostop permission should do that. Note that you must apply specially to be allowed to sign apps that would use this permission, at https://developer.blackberry.com/jam/headless/ Without approval for that you can't even test a development version of your code.
