I checked...been going for 9 hours already :

4000 apps in the first 5 hours!? That's more than one app every 5 seconds. BB10portathon

So EST is Australia time (GMT+10), not North America (GMT-5)? Was this mentioned anywhere?

I don't know any about EST, GMT. I add the event to Google Calendar, It will calculate and alarm for me 30' before the event. Smiley Happy

The Australian timezone is actually AEST.  The one in North America is EST, officially, and it's where RIM's headquarters lies, in Waterloo, Ontario.

Does this port-a-thong have policy "First come, first serve"? I've submited my app 10' after BB notification, but none of my app is qualified. But my friend submited after me, his app is almost qualified now.

I also haven't heard anything back yet, though some friends have already had theirs approved. I don't know if it's random or not.

As there will always be bugs... and I've already noticed some in my app, should I wait until RIM has checked my for qualification before uploading a new version ?

You can update right away, in fact I recommend it.  If it was a bad bug the submission could be denied anyway, which would require a re-submit to qualify.
