BlackBerry Document pages now have comments section

Did anyone else notice this new addition?

You can now add you own comments at the bottom of each page.

I've spent all morning putting, 'Must do better', 'Needs more work' and 'Makes no sense'.

Yeah just what we need, flame wars, might liven things up around here a bit. Smiley Wink

I've only put one comment in and that's on Toasts with buttons. Smiley Happy

Re: BlackBerry Document pages now have comments section

I didn't particular like that the facebook/twitter sign-in options gave some pretty hefty permission to write to the respective accounts, it would have been nice if it was linked to the bbid or jam account instead.

Par for the course these days I suppose. Smiley Sad

Re: BlackBerry Document pages now have comments section

Yeah, that's just how Disqus rolls. It's the same setup as the comments on our blog.

BlackBerry ID integration is something that we are looking in to, but we thought it was more useful to get the comments in first and see how it goes.

Cool.

I do hope though that you were speaking in jest about those comments. I'm sure constructive criticism, i.e. pointing out specifically what improvements are needed, or what areas need work, would be far more helpful than general "this sucks" types of responses. If that's the best commenters can do then they'll probably be removing the feature pretty darn quickly. ;-)

I think he was joking however,

Even though it may not be as nicely worded and such.... "this sucks" can be a powerful message and if the content is really to that quality then I see no reason against the comment as it will hopefully encourage improvement to discourage more negative comments can't be picky when opening up for feedback or there's really no sense in it at all

Re: BlackBerry Document pages now have comments section

I put that in quotes to show that I didn't mean it literally but, ignoring that for the moment, if one used a phrase like that may be powerful, but it's also rude and fails to consider that the people on the receiving end are humans with feelings.

No developer here would like to receive comments about an app to the effect that "it sucks", and none should be dishing out such coarse criticism, unless they feel like being insulting. Just my point of view of course...

Re: BlackBerry Document pages now have comments section

It was in jest, I've only put one comment so far under the toasts page (no insults Smiley Happy)...

I've just had a look to find this link and it already has a response, cool!
