I have a text that contains usernames ("@username") and hastags ("#hashtag") and I want to execute a function when one is clicked, like Twitter when you click a username it opens the profile page.
Currently I am splitting the text to another Label every time a username or hastag is found and adding a tap handler.
Is there another way to accomplish it?

I generally use the following code to achieve this:
console.log("Label is clicked !!")
Let me know if it works for you also !!

You are better off using a tap handler for this, so it doesn't accidentally trigger during things like scrolls.

Are you trying to let the user invoke Twitter itself, or have your own custom behaviour?
You can take a look at the ActiveTextHander: https://developer.blackberry.com/native/reference/
