Well, functions can have return values. Have you seen https://developer.blackberry.com/native/documentation/cascades/dev/integrating_cpp_qml/index.html ? There are a number of ways to interact between C++ and QML.


You can't really just call childCardDone, that is a slot that will get called when the InvokeReply's childCardDone signal is fired. You can create another signal on your CPP object and connect to in manually in QML if yu like. Take a look at the Exposing C++ objects to QML part of that document I linked, particularily the valueChanged stuff.
