Re: Can't run bbndk.sh in Fedora 17 - 64bit

In my case, Debian 6.0.3 Squeeze8 64-bit though, it's showing the same problem.

No error information in console nor system log.

Even the GUI couldn't show up during the installation.

I got NDK to work by installing ia32 libs and Java. (for some reason it's not in my Debian installation)

    #apt-get install ia32-libs

    #apt-get install ia32-sun-java6-bin

Then a uninstall & re-install. Just my 2 cents.

Re: Can't run bbndk.sh in Fedora 17 - 64bit

Thank you.  Debian 6.0 64bit here too and I was missing the second one

apt-get install ia32-sun-java6-bin

The docs over here

http://developer.blackberry.com/native/downloads/bb10/requirements_nativesdk.html

mention the first part

sudo apt-get install ia32-libs

But not the second part (ia32-sun-java6-bin) that you pointed out, which is surprising because the bbndk includes a JRE.  But  regardless of PATH and JAVA_HOME settings qde wouldn't start, until I installed ia32-sun-java6-bin.

FWIW: Ubuntu 12.04.3 64 bit didn't require the ia32-sun-java6-bin.  Just Debian.

Other odd thing about the install my PS1 env var which includes a \u prevented the installer from running (complaining about \u being a malformed unicode sequence, even in the context of PS1 it's just an escape to display the current user.
