Contribution (not a question) - Custom Elements in Cascades

Dear all,

For my project I've been creating some custom elements for my idea of how the UI should look like.

This focussed mainly on the hader and ListView ListItem(s).

While I'm not modifying the core components, I do use them together with the possible modifications to create my own look and feel. And While we can't change the Cascades Components themselfs (so also need to count in their appearence when building UI's) I think you still have a lot of headroom to make an Application look like your own.

More information on how I created the Custom ItemList follow these links for Code and Sketches and Mockups ;-)

nice

noticed that you have 150x150 px Image

I came to the same size to make it comfortable for the user to use with the thumb

your custom layout supports only portrait ?

Re: Contribution (not a question) - Custom Elements in Cascades

Thanks for the feedback.

I've used StackLayOut with spaceQuota so it should perfectly well in a landscape orientation too, I've only not implemented it, as I don't think it gives a good User Experience.

Landscape is not something for lists in my opinion ;-).

(unless it's a tablet, then I like using a left clomun list and content pane on the right).

Re: Contribution (not a question) - Custom Elements in Cascades

I always implement Landscape and Portrait because from my POV the user has to decide and I by myself don't like apps where I have to switch because the app says 'portrait is better'

you're right: lists are better in portrait but as soon as the BB10 device with 720x720 comes out this height must be supported

my 2 ct
