Device independent locale support

Hi all,

I'm developing my application in Cascades, i need to know if my application can have its own locale support independent of the device locale.

for example, my device locale is suppose Portugues and then can i have my application locale to be English/French?

Please help!!

Regards!

Re: Device independent locale support

You could do this but it would be a lot of extra work on your behalf for very little benefit IMHO.

All the auto translations in the components would not happen for instance, notifications, etc.

Re: Device independent locale support

i think it would be quite easy as the QTranslator loads the locale manually, it should be possible to remove the systemLanguageChanged connection and use your own locale management while still utilizing the whole qt I8n framework.

create a new project using the wizard, then check the localization support that was created automatically. understand how that works, then try to change it.

I don't know anybody who has done that, it was just an idea as the qt system seems pretty straightforward and modable.
