FastScrollEnabled like function in ListView

I was wondering if the SDK enables us to get the FastScroll which is used within the native Contacts App.

Re: FastScrollEnabled like function in ListView

The term "FastScroll" is not used in BB10, so I don't know what it means. Can you explain?

Re: FastScrollEnabled like function in ListView

Within the Native Contacts App you find a row of letters on the Right! Scrolling your finger over this row quickly allows you to go to contacts where that first letter is the ListItemComponent Header.

Re: FastScrollEnabled like function in ListView

That's not available as a standard component, so you would have to implement it yourself as a custom component.

Re: FastScrollEnabled like function in ListView

Basically you would need to;

1) Enclose the Listview in a DockLayout Container

2) Add a StackLayout (TopToBottom) transparent container to that DockLayout on the right

3) Search the list for the valid letters

4) Add those letters (as buttons or other UI element) in to the transparent container

5) Add the code that on a letter being clicked scrolls the list to the first item starting with that letter

If you've been helped click on Like Button, if you've been saved buy the app. Smiley Happy
