Handling Notifications in the BlackBerry Hub

Based on the contents of this article: https://developer.blackberry.com/cascades/documentation/device_comm/push/handling_notifications_in_b...

If I sent a notification to the hub using notification.notify(), what is the default behaviour when the user taps on that item in the Hub if I haven't set up my application to receive invocation requests?

Assuming the app was left running, the tapping action should simply take the user back to my application as it was when the user left it. If the app is closed, it should just launch the app and take the user to the main screen as if it is a fresh launch.

To accomplish this, would I have to do what the article says under the "Display a push message for an open invoke event" section? Or would that only be useful if I wanted to take the user to some other specific data?
