How can I simulate a key press event within a WebView

The webview is loading external content and I simply want to simulate if somebody were browsing the website on their PC and clicked the 'F1' key. Any ideas?

Everything I'm doing seems to be failing horribly.

I find this website, which simulates keypresses on button presses, and works on the native BB10 browser, so I'm assuming what I'm trying to do is possible:

On the other hand, I need to simulate the keypress on someone else's website that I do not control.
