How do I install the SDK BB10 offline

I want to install the SDK BB10, but there the installation process is done online while my internet connection is not good. Here I would like to ask how to install the SDK BB10 offline?

Thanks you.

Re: How do I install the SDK BB10 offline

This has been asked a few times in the forums, mostly by those who have restricted access at their work.

It is not currently possible to do so.

Re: How do I install the SDK BB10 offline

there is no package to install it offline....

but there is a work around...

this is what i found and works for me

download the sdk from here

Blackberry 10.1 SDK
http://downloads.blackberry.com/upr/developers/update/bbndk/ndktargetrepo_10.1.0.4828/packages/bbndk...
http://downloads.blackberry.com/upr/developers/update/bbndk/ndktargetrepo_10.1.0.4828/packages/bbndk...

http://downloads.blackberry.com/upr/developers/update/bbndk/ndktargetrepo_10.1.0.4828/packages/bbndk...

Blackberry 10.2 SDK
http://downloads.blackberry.com/upr/developers/update/bbndk/ndktarget_10.2.0.1155/ndktargetrepo_10.2...
http://downloads.blackberry.com/upr/developers/update/bbndk/ndktarget_10.2.0.1155/ndktargetrepo_10.2...
http://downloads.blackberry.com/upr/developers/update/bbndk/ndktarget_10.2.0.1155/ndktargetrepo_10.2...
http://downloads.blackberry.com/upr/developers/update/bbndk/ndktarget_10.2.0.1155/ndktargetrepo_10.2...
http://downloads.blackberry.com/upr/developers/update/bbndk/ndktarget_10.2.0.1155/ndktargetrepo_10.2...

http://downloads.blackberry.com/upr/developers/update/bbndk/ndktarget_10.2.0.1155/ndktargetrepo_10.2...

extract all the files to bbndk folder

after that go to folder

C:\Users\%YOUR_USERNAME%\AppData\Local\Research In Motion\BlackBerry Native SDK\qconfig

if you dont have it create one

create a xml file by name qnx_blackberry_native_development_kit_10.1.0.4828.xml for 10.1 SDK

the file value is

<?xml version="1.0" ?>
<qnxSystemDefinition>
  <installation>
    <base>D:/bbndk</base>
    <name>BlackBerry 10 Native SDK 10.1.0.4828</name>
    <host>D:/bbndk/host_10_1_0_238/win32/x86</host>
    <target>D:/bbndk/target_10_1_0_4828/qnx6</target>
    <version>10.1.0.4828</version>
  </installation>
</qnxSystemDefinition>

 and for 10.2 SDK

file name qnx_blackberry_native_development_kit_10.2.0.1155.xml

<?xml version="1.0" ?>
<qnxSystemDefinition>
  <installation>
    <base>D:/bbndk</base>
    <name>BlackBerry 10 Native SDK 10.2.0.1155</name>
    <host>D:/bbndk/host_10_2_0_15/win32/x86</host>
    <target>D:/bbndk/target_10_2_0_1155/qnx6</target>
    <version>10.2.0.1155</version>
  </installation>
</qnxSystemDefinition>

install bbndk-bb10_2_0x-win32-1179-106-201308090035 before doing all the step above.

it works for me

Re: How do I install the SDK BB10 offline

[ Edited ]

Actually, that is not true. Although the problem seems to have solved itself, for several months earlier last year (May-August) I had serious difficulties getting Momentics to download SDKs, and when they did they were transferring at about 10-20kb/srather than the 500kb/sor more they should have been. After downloads that would often take several days, Momentics would report an installation failure and I'd have to start again. After much experimentation I found that I could download the SDK and target manually and unzip them into the bbndk directory and them mess with some XML files. (as described by @anditsung)

The Momentics problem eventually solved itself so I don't do this anymore, but it does work. The toughest part is finding the correct URL for the SDK download.

Re: How do I install the SDK BB10 offline

[ Edited ]

I accidentally came across an old Evernote today that I saved back in early July 2013 to remind me how to download and install an SDK manually. These instructions are for x32 tools, and I'm not sure if this all still works, but this is what I wrote to myself...

  1. Download http://downloads.blackberry.com/upr/developers/update/bbndk/ndktargetrepo_x.x.x.x/content.jar where x.x.x.x is the SDK version number.
  2. Extract content.xml from the jar file.
  3. Download all the x32 packages referenced in content.xml from http://downloads.blackberry.com/upr/developers/update/bbndk/ndktargetrepo_x.x.x.x/packages/<package>...bbndk.win32.documents.x.x.x.x.zip, bbndk.win32.licenses.x.x.x.x.zip, bbndk.win32.samples.x.x.x.x.zip and bbndk.win32.tools.x.x.x.x.zip).
  4. Extract them all in C:\bbndk. Make note of which directory the tools zip was extracted into since this will be different than all the rest and is needed for the XML <host> element below.
  5. Go to "%AppData%\..\Local\Research In Motion\BlackBerry Native SDK\qconfig".
  6. Create a file "qnx_blackberry_native_development_kit_x.x.x.x.xml" with the following contents, changing the <host>, <name>, <target>, <version> and <detailedVersion> elements appropriately.

<?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8" standalone="no"?>
   <qnxSystemDefinition>
   <installation>
      <base>C:/bbndk</base>
      <host>C:/bbndk/host_10_1_0_212/win32/x86</host>
      <name>BlackBerry 10 Native SDK 10.1.0.1483</name>
      <target>C:/bbndk/target_10_1_0_1483/qnx6</target>
      <version>10.1.0.1483</version>
      <annotation>
         <appInfo source="p2install">
            <detailedVersion>10.1.0.1483</detailedVersion>
         </appInfo>
      </annotation>
   </installation>
</qnxSystemDefinition>

I tried this and it worked great! Thanks anditsung!

Do you happen to have the links for the 10.2.1 SDK files? Smiley Tongue

Re: How do I install the SDK BB10 offline

Using the method I described earlier to peek inside the content.jar file I managed to find the link for the 10.2.1.1055 Runtime, but I can't see any of the other files. Interestingly, when I install the 10.2.1 preview from Momentics only the runtime is installed. Neither the host nor target is updated, so I'm guessing they don't exist, at least at this time.

Re: How do I install the SDK BB10 offline

Well, lets see... when you install the 10.2.1.1055 SDK via Momentics, it only installs the runtime, not the host or target files. When you use the link I provided it only downloads the runtime package too. This page states that there are no API changes between 10.2.0 and 10.2.1, so being able to download the same 10.2.1.1055 SDK package outside Momentics does seem to be a solution for the 0x9F's question... how to download the 10.2.1 SDK without using Momentics.

Thanks for the welcome back. Yep... got the official 10.2.1.1925 on my handset today too. A corresponding SDK download does not seem to exist though.

Actuall that's what I meant by that comment I'm using the 1925 runtime but your solution doesn't give the link?
