How to know if backlight is on or off?

Is there a way to know if the backlight is on or off.....couldn't find an API or event that would let me know.  Thanks.

Re: How to know if backlight is on or off?

Have you tried the invisible() signal in bb::Application.  The  Fundamentals of Cascades doc says :

invisible() This signal is emitted when the app (and its active frame) are no longer visible. The app might enter this state if the device backlight is off or if another app is brought to the foreground.

Apart from the Application state, is there a way to check the Backlight state and maybe the Level at a global state?  (even if my App is in the Background)
