How to track when email message was open to read and closed?

Hello,

I am porting my one old blackberry application to BB10 using cascades and as obbious its awesome, but after doing all the research and digging into cascades API I am still not able to find anything equivelent to ViewListener interface like we have in BlackBerry Java API.

In my old applicaiton, I was tracking down when user has opened any specific email and at the same time I was doing some background operations and similar task while user close specific email. I am trying to accomplish the similar task for BB10 but I couldnot find anything like ViewListener.

Can anyone please help with this here? I will really appreciate your help.

Thanks

Rahul

Hi Rahul,

The ability to run in the background is a roadmap item for the next feature release (documented here):

For ViewListener, the best analogy is MessageService.  It doesn't have exact parity, but there are methods for detecting messages changing state to unread, messages downloading body, etc.
