It would be a very useful feature to have but the label method works just not nearly as well

You can't put a label in a image and the save it as jpg or png.  The whole point of drawtext on the image is so that image can be saved to a file.

in a roundabout way its possible. The Qpainter method would be awesome, however since BB doesn't want to give it to us I used the tools avaliable to do the best i could with what i had.

And it's not too shabby Smiley Wink although with Qpainter I do agree that it could be much better

Re: How to write text on image

Can you save and share the image being viewed with the text superimposed on it? If not then it is not a solution to the issue I have. I have also used the Label overlay method in qute a few places in software I've writen, first in HelloGPS. But now I am producing signal strenght maps that I want to annotate and save.

Re: How to write text on image

Allrighty I'll spill the beans Smiley Wink

Just take a screenshot with the text then you can save, share etc

Downsides, the image is only the resolution of the screen

Upside, it's the only method availiable at the moment (and it works)

This sample demonstrates how to take a screenshot using 10.0 api's & no permissions

Re: How to write text on image

Thought of that, the problem is the image is limited to the resolution of the screen. Not much point for what I'm doing.
