Images and Touches for a newbie

[ Edited ]

I'm loading in an image using what I have learnt from the docs and example. I want a number of Images on top of each other. My question is, is there a better way to load in images?

Page* root = new Page();
Container *container = new Container();
ImageView* kit = ImageView::create("asset:///images/kit.jpeg");
container->add(kit);
root->setContent(container);

Application::instance()->setScene(root);

 Also, I want users to be able to click on each image and emit a signal. I can do the signal and slot bit but was just wondering if an image could emit a signal or if it had to be a container? And how would you get an image to react on touch?

Thanks for any help!
