Integrate to the share menu in bb10 browser

Hi,

I am trying to add my app to the "Share" so that let the user can share the current url to my app.

I understand that I can leverage the invocation framework and make my app to listen to the "bb.action.SHARE" action.

Does anyone know what mime-type I will need to set my app to act on?

Thanks,

Derek

Re: Integrate to the share menu in bb10 browser

I don't think in this case you want your app to respond to a SHARE action, but rather to issue it. Is it correct that you're asking for how to have your app let the user issue an "Invite to Download" for the app, through BBM? That would give the recipient a link in a BBM message, which they could click on to jump directly to the app's entry in the App World client.

If that's what you want, here's a sample: https://github.com/blackberry/Cascades-Community-Samples/tree/master/BBMQtInviteToDownload and here's a background article: http://devblog.blackberry.com/2012/11/bbm-integration/

Probably not a mime-type but a uri... so you could do something like http:// or https://

I am trying to let the user share the current url in the browser through my app. An analogy would be like letting the user  to share the url through Facebook, Email, twitter etc

From the invocation framework doc online (https://developer.blackberry.com/cascades/documentation/device_platform/invocation/receiving_invocat... it seems I must specify a mine-type. I also tried adding uri like the following, but I still cannot see my app available in the "Share" in the browser.

			<property var="uris" value="http://,https://"/>

You'e sharing a web page, not a URL. Try mime type text/html.

Re: Integrate to the share menu in bb10 browser

I couldn't find the sample on GitHub throught the link you provided.

I want to do just the same thing , you suggested through ApplicationMenu's ActionItem. I just want to know what should I assign to the onTriggered attribute of it. I also want to provide mailing functionality so that the user could contact me and a "rate this app" feature through tthe other two ActionItems.

Any suggestions.
