InvokeActionItem: setting data

I know there is another thread on the forums relating to InvokeActionItems, but my question is different. I have the following InvokeActionItem and wish to customize the 'data' associated with it. What would be the most appropriate way to do this? Would it be wise to customize the 'data' member when 'onTriggered' is called, or is this too late? Should I use a custom "handler'? My data is obviously conditional to the item on which the InvokeActionItem is brought up.

InvokeActionItem {
    id: invokeActionItem
    objectName: "invokeActionItem"
    query {
        mimeType: "text/plain"
        data: MY_CUSTOM_DATA

Re: InvokeActionItem: setting data

Check this post. This is how I managed to do it (I was able to do it only from C++):
