I'm thinking about making "widget like" app which main functionality is when it's run in minified (thumbnail) version.
What should I do in settings/code to allow user to launch several instances of that app?
(It will enable user to have different widget settings for different launches)

using InvocationFramework your app can be opened multiple times,
but there's always only one app visible - this means: you can OPEN an App only one time
but you can provide functionality from your App using Cards (InvocationFramework) -
then there can be multiple instances running (invisible)
OS manages how many instances are running using a pool where your Cards are cached
so for your widget-like apps:
if these apps are different apps invoking functionality from your "main" app using cards - best in this usecase a bound invocation - all your widgets have access to the same app and also (through the cards) to same data from app-sandbox
I'm sure you can solve your requirements ... and you'll like the Cards
