Launch Application on some key press

Hi,

 

I want to launch application, based on some key press, say volume Up.

 

Is it possible and How can I do the same ?

Well, I have a spare feature phone, If I press certain button it tells me current time.

 

I like this perticular feature very much, and thought to implement similar feature for my blackberry device.

I see.  It is possible to have an app that remains open and listens for the keypress.... then it could show a notification dialog with the time.

I think thats one option.

 

Can application receive key press event, even it's not in foreground ?
