Loading a gif from a URL and playing it in QML

I've used the ImageLoader example from the Cascades-Samples to load images, and this works well. Unfortunately it does not work with animated gifs, which remain static and show only the first frame. I've tried adding an ImageAnimator attachedObject to the ImageView, but it does not seem to work. It might be that some data is lost when the image is decoded and converted into a bb::cascades::Image. Is there any way to load a gif from a url and play it in an ImageView?

I have no idea about this... but perhaps you could use a WebView {} until you've got the ImageView and ImageAnimator working as intended.

Perhaps not the best solution, but working until you've got something better. Smiley Happy
