Accepted Solution

PHP configure and stripped libraries

[Note for those it may help : If you've tried doing PHP yourself crypt_r is available here - that problem is before this one]

As soon as PHP's gets to iconv it falls over asking me to reinstall iconv

Some investigation later I find that the most (all?) of the shared libraries have been stripped so there's no symbols in those versions

I'm wondering if this is throwing AC_CHECK_LIB off?

objdump -tT libiconv.so shows everythings OK internally

Re: PHP configure and stripped libraries

Rats = never use the latest release... (of anything)

The configure is broken for cross-cimpiling Smiley Sad
