I have QT compiled and am trying to run the sample in the simulator

This is the log i am finding:

Re: Simple QT app failing on simulator

I don't have the log but I've also noticed that the sample don't work on the simulator.

Re: Simple QT app failing on simulator

Hi,
Thanks for confirming.
Have you been able to get any other to work on the simulator?
Also is this sample working directly on the playbook?

Re: Simple QT app failing on simulator

Hi,

I've tested some BlackBerry samples but some of them seems doesn't work on the simulator like "GoodCitizen".

I don't have a Playbook Smiley Sad

But some people have tested this sample on their Playbook and it seems worked. See : Installing-QT-in-the-QNX-IDE

Re: Simple QT app failing on simulator

Hey Guys,

I apologize for the difficulty that you all are facing in regards to the issue.

Might I ask what kind of error you seeing in the Simulator. Is your application crashing with an Error code 8?

Are you also trying to deploy your app built for the Playbook (ARMv7 architecture) on the simulator (x86 architecture)?

Looking forward to your reply.

Re: Simple QT app failing on simulator

Hi Raihan,

Thanks for looking into this.

The error value i get is in the log output pasted above. errno=22.

The application launches, and then crashes. The log is as above and there is a core file too. Cant make much into it as its a release bin.

I have built QT(from blackberry github, configure-qsk) and the sample app, source code as per the webpage(link is above). All built for the simulator (nto86x-gcc).

I want to try this in the simulator before putting it into the playbook.

Do you have any clue why this error comes up?

Thanks

Re: Simple QT app failing on simulator

Thanks for your reply !

I've checked my project and I confirm that the binaries are built for a x86 architecture.

I have unzipped the bar file and I saw something wrong in the manifest file :

Package-Architecture: armle-v7

Maybe I need to specify the targeted architecture when I build the bar file with blackberry-nativepackager ?

Re: Simple QT app failing on simulator

Strange and very weird....The app works on the Device.

I just went through the entire set of hoops and jumps to rebuild and deploy on the device.

this just renders the sim useless..

Re: Simple QT app failing on simulator

I'm stuck ! I don't have a Playbook...

And I want to validate the modifications that I brought to configure.exe are correct !
