Re: Slow debug startup

Hahaha, yeah, and it annoys the poop out of me because I've never made an app that I wanted to halt on main but I have to uncheck that every time I create a new debugging profile.

For my log test I switched back to 10.1 (since that's what I'm releasing and since there's no difference between that and building for 10.2) and in the log I see:

This is the entire log.  It starts when I open up momentics, I then run a debug session until it starts and then close momentics:

I notice that between the launch of the debug session and

!ENTRY com.qnx.tools.ide.bbt.debug.core 1 0 2014-01-22 09:47:51.092
!MESSAGE CsDevelopmentSupportEnabled: false

There's 25 or so seconds but that still leaves over a minute (I counted mississippi's and this time it took a minute and 23 seconds roughly).

Very baffling.

Ah mississippis that age old accurate timing system. Smiley Wink

I hear what you are saying but this isn't really my area of expertise best to send it off to BlackBerry and see what response you get.

Re: Slow debug startup

Exactly the same problem with the latest NDK on MacBook Pro - launching debugging session takes forever with fairly small application (Run session starts quickly).

Re: Slow debug startup

Ok so that then also eliminates Windows as part of the equation.

Do you have the same log entries?  The log file is in the root of your workspace.  You can close momentics, delete or rename the old file and re-open momentics and it will create a new log file.

Do people that have fast debugging have those same log entries?

have you tried creating a new workspace and an empty sample project to see if it still runs as slowly?

I checked my logs and each section where yours is saying null i have at least 50-80 lines of things like this

find the root folder of your workspace there should be a .metadata folder inside, open it up and theres a bunch of files, i opened the one named .log and it had info similar to the OP's... just checked the other log files and they also seem relatively similar

Re: Slow debug startup

After hit 'Debug' in approximately 15 seconds I get one message in .log file:

!ENTRY com.qnx.tools.ide.bbt.debug.core 1 0 2014-01-22 20:30:27.590
!MESSAGE CsDevelopmentSupportEnabled: false

and blank screen on the device.

Then in approximately 2 minutes Application stops at the main() - I have this settings set - then warnings like

warning: Could not load shared library symbols for /proc/boot/img_codec_png.so.
Do you need "set solib-search-path" or "set sysroot"?

start appearing in console and after bunch of them the App finally starts.

In .log file there is nothing except posted above one message.

Re: Slow debug startup

BGmot: What version of the SDK are you using and is it the exact same as is running on the phone, out of curiosity?

Re: Slow debug startup

That has been always my confusion -(

I am using the latest 10.2 Gold SDK but API level is set to 10.1.something for this app. The device is running 10.2.0.249 (OS 10.2.0.1803)
