Stop a signal from connecting to slot

Hi,

Is there any way to stop a SIGNAL from emitting ??

I had defined a SIGNAL to connect to a SLOT at some point of time earlier.

But now I want to stop that SIGNAL from connecting to SLOT function.

I tried this thing

defining a signal to connect to slot

connectResult = connect (sensor, SIGNAL(readingChanged()),this, SLOT(accelerationReadingChanged()));

To stop I use

connect (sensor, SIGNAL(readingChanged()), this, SLOT());

But it doesn't stop from emitting.

Re: Stop a signal from connecting to slot

use disconnect to disconnect the signal.
as signals and slots allow n to n connections a new connect does not overwrite the old connect.

[ Edited ]

So, I need to call

disconnect (sensor, SIGNAL(readingChanged()), this, SLOT());
to stop the signal.

Re: Stop a signal from connecting to slot

call disconnect with the same arguments that you called connect with.
you can also disconnect all signals or slots by using the overloaded static functions.
