Tapping into a bluetooth stream

I am trying to create a Playbook Application that can connect to a Bluetooth device and utilize the raw data in my application. Will this be possible? Will the Native SDK allow me to access the information that is coming out of the serial port? Thank you in advance.

Re: Tapping into a bluetooth stream

It's not possible yet. It will be possible. We don't really know when, but there's supposed to be a session next week at the BlackBerry 10 Jam conference in Orlando where we expect to learn more.

Re: Tapping into a Bluetooth stream

Thank you for the quick response. Would the information from the session from the Blackberry 10 Jam conference be accessible online?

Re: Tapping into a Bluetooth stream

In the past the recordings or material from sessions at DevCons has not been available unless you had attended one of the conferences within the past year or so (i.e. it required a login) but it's unclear whether they will be opening things up more this time around.

Many of us believe they probably will, since it helps them little to limit the distribution of this material. No guarantees yet...

Re: Tapping into a Bluetooth stream

*bump* Having a hard time finding any updates on any bluetooth interfacing for devs. Did I miss it, am I failing in my googling or has there simply been no news?

Re: Tapping into a Bluetooth stream

Not sure if anyone has written up what they heard yet.

I wasn't able to attend the Unconference session which talked about USB and Bluetooth, but quite a few others did. Maybe someone who did will read this and post some sort of summary of what they heard.

I know there were slides, but maybe those won't be posted along with the primary session material... don't know.
