Re: What should we use to develop our apps?

[ Edited ]

Any updates on this? NDK2 beta was released, but I can't find any reference to cascade.

Very nice for OpenGL developers and Adobe Air developers, but what about the rest of developers? We have a hard work ahead porting our java applications(Which won't be supported by Playbook, nor by future BB smartphones), so we need info and the SDK as soon as possible...

Does anybody know if there is a scheduled date for cascade release? I know that QT or other things can be used, but if there is going to be a native kit, it seems a bit of a loss of time to use other external libraries, specially for huge projects.

Re: What should we use to develop our apps?

The latest story (as told at DevCon) hasn't officially changed yet, as far as I know. They said beta by end of year, and release version of Cascades around April. As with most other dates from RIM, those should be considered pretty fluid... just take it as ballpark guidance.
