freetype vs freetype2

when i use the library importer and link freetype2, it can nor be resolved (compiler: -lfreetype2).

the compiler cannot resolve the lib.

when i use -lfreetype in the compiler instead, it compiles.

i thought freetype version 2 should be included in the sdk?

Re: freetype vs freetype2

The library included is ft2, even though you link against libfreetype. Check your headers.

Re: freetype vs freetype2

[ Edited ]

Im having the same problem:

Errors(1 item)

cannot find -lfreetype2

I also get: (In warnings)

7 of these:

Source file of asset "lib/libfreetype2.so" does not exist

These warnings are in the bar descriptor source so i've probably done something .wrong with libraries.

I've noticed that in the graphical bar descriptor window in the assets tab it labels "libfreetype2.so" as a shared library but cannot find it. It is not in my project folders either. I didnt add it, I started from the empty c++ app project so I dont know where it came from unless it is auto added for the bar descriptor Smiley Frustrated

Any help would be greatly appreciated,

Mike

Update:

Just created a new project from the menu and used the opengles1.1 C template. I dont get the error, but still 7 warnings in the bar desciptor source where it references to lib/libfreetype2.so

Re: freetype vs freetype2

You should still link against -lfreetype not -lfreetype2. It is ft2, but the versioning is done within the header files. The library name is still libfreetype, not libfreetype2.

Re: freetype vs freetype2
